A Celestial Celebration of Sri Krishna
Krisnaruupa is a contemporary and classy collection of six songs composed by Ruupa Raaman with lyrics by Aajay K Chauhan.
Swing to the sprightly tune of ‘Nandlala’ or get transported to Vrindavan with Radha in ‘Shyaam Ke Sang’. Let your devotion seep in with ‘Aaj Prabhu Mohey’ and ‘Krishnaa Krishnaa’. You can visualize the beautiful ‘Shreenaathji Darshan’ in the famous temple at Nathdwara, Rajasthan, through eight classical raga-based bandishes or you can also immerse yourself into chanting the 108 names of Sri Krishna according to Gaudiya Vaishnavism through ‘Jai Jai Krishna’.
Sraboni Chaudhuri, Sanchita Bhattacharya, Aishwarya Majmudar and Anweshaa lend their voices to these mesmerizing and soothing songs dedicated to Sri Krishna.
Arranged and programmed by Atul Raninga, this album features Flautist Ashwin Srinivasan, Sunil Das on Sitar, Dhruba Ghosh on Sarangi, Narayan Mani on Saraswati Veena, Tabla by Ashish Jha, Violin by Manas Kumar, Pakhawaj and Dholak by Shreedhara Chari and Rohit Prasad on Mridangam. The album was recorded by Aakash Jaitly and mixed by Aakash Jaitly and Shantanu Mukherjee at Studio Ré N Rāgā and mastered at Sonderwerk by Ahitagni Dasgupta.
Krisnaruupa is also a crowd-funded effort, helmed by Ruupa Raaman, with almost 60 people supporting the making of this album and is self-published under her independent music label, Iktara Musique along with digital and online partners, OK Listen and Televantage.
