In the year 2011-12, at least 200 cases of color related deaths, skin disease, loss of eyesight, were reported in only in Mumbai. These included several children as young as 9 or 10 years who were hospitalized. Similar incidences are expected this 2013 Holi festival. The use of synthetic pigments, dyes that were meant to be residue, and other harmful toxic ingredients in color lead to this.
The only way to prevent this is to go natural, using plant and spice extracts, to crate colors that are pure and absolutely safe.
